The WPCAT5 is an indoor lightning and surge protector which provides protection for CAT5 data applications. The unit is fully compatible with industry-standard Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) devices and 10/100 Base-T Ethernet networks, providing protection to both Ethernet data pairs as well as the PoE DC power feed. The unit supports both modes A and B of the 802.3af standard for of supplying DC power. Power can be fed up the CAT5 data pairs, 1-2, 3-6 or using the two unused pairs, 4-5, 7-8.This lightning surge protector is compatible with Cisco legacy network appliance products like Access Points, DC Injectors and other equipment supporting reverse polarity PoE pinouts.Electrical Box MountThe WPCAT5 features a brushed stainless steel wall plate designed to mount to standard in-wall electrical/conduit boxes. This protector is ideal for use in homes and offices with existing in-wall Ethernet wiring. A ground lug is provided directly on the protector and mounting screws are included.EMI Noise SuppressionThe WPCAT5 features shielded RJ-45 jacks.
